Their own listing asks it

Dream Car Giveaways alternatives

Their competitions put the prize to you as a choice, printed on the listing before you enter: the car plus a cash sum, or a larger amount of cash and no car. Which makes the question worth asking out loud. If you would take Option B, you are entering a car competition to win money. A cash draw is that without the step in between.

What their own terms and listings say

Their terms are clear that a cash alternative is not automatic: there is no cash alternative for the prize unless it is stated on the website, and the promoter may provide one at its discretion. In practice their car listings do state it, as a lettered choice on the page. One we checked offered the car with £2,000, or £18,000 in cash instead.

On the two things this site argues about hardest, they do them. Their terms say the maximum number of entries to a competition will be stated on the website, and that no further entries are accepted once that maximum is reached. They apply a per-person limit to free entries as well as paid ones. And a free entry route is available on all competitions, by pre-paid post.

Their competitions are also open to residents of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland aged 18 or over, which is a wider door than ours: our paid competitions are Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) only. We would rather tell you that than leave it out.

From Dream Car Giveaways’ own terms and a live competition listing, checked 2 November 2026. We did not check every listing, so treat the cash option as something to confirm on the competition you are looking at rather than a guarantee across the site. Terms change.

The case for skipping the car

It is not a case against cars. If you want to drive it, the car is the only thing that will do, and the cash option exists precisely because the two are not the same. But a car arrives with a valuation somebody else set, insurance, road tax and a decision to make in the week you win. Money arrives as money.

Here, tickets are 9p each in minimum orders of 25, so £2.25 is the smallest order you can place. The prize is cash from the start, every competition publishes its ticket cap before entry opens so the odds can be worked out, and the result can be recomputed by anyone afterwards.

How to compare the two properly

Not on ticket price. Both sites publish caps, so you can do the sum that actually matters: your tickets divided by the cap. Three pence in a 200,000-ticket draw is a longer shot than seventy-nine pence in a 60,000-ticket one, and the headline price tells you nothing about which. The calculator takes any competition’s numbers.

If you would rather spend nothing at all while you make your mind up, our free draw has no ticket to buy and the postal route is open on everything else.

Common questions

Can you take the cash instead of the car on Dream Car Giveaways?

On the competitions that offer it, yes, and it is printed on the listing as a choice before you enter. Their terms are explicit that it is not automatic: clause 8.4 says there is no cash alternative for the prize unless stated on the website, and that the promoter may provide one at its discretion. So the thing to check is the listing, not the terms. Checked 2 November 2026.

Does Dream Car Giveaways publish the number of tickets?

Yes. Their terms say the maximum number of entries to a competition will be stated on the website, and that no further entries are permitted once it is reached. There is also a per-person limit, which their terms apply to free entries as well as paid ones. That means your chance can be worked out before you pay. Checked 2 November 2026.

Is there a free entry route?

Yes. Their terms state that a paid entry route and a free entry route are available to all competitions, with the free route by pre-paid post to a PO Box address. Hand-delivered entries are not accepted and bulk entries in one envelope do not count as multiple entries. Checked 2 November 2026.

What is a good alternative if I only want the cash?

A cash competition, where the money is the prize rather than one of two options. There is no listing to check, no discretion to fall inside and no conversion to accept. The trade is that you cannot win a car, which matters a great deal if the car was the point.

Who can enter?

Their terms open their competitions to residents of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland aged 18 or over, which is wider than ours: Grand Draws paid competitions are Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) only. If you are in Northern Ireland or the Republic, that difference is worth knowing before you compare anything else.

Option B, without the car

Grand Draws runs cash draws on published ticket caps, with free postal entry on the same odds. 18+, Great Britain.
