Free instant wins

A free instant win is a scratch game you play without paying anything: no purchase, no card and no deposit. Grand Draws runs one a week. Prizes are attached to entry numbers before the game opens, so your result is already settled by the time you scratch, and about 1 in 172 cards win something.

£50 top prize, and 58 winning numbers across 10,000 entry numbers.

What you can win, and how likely it is

Every prize is listed with how many there are. Most plays do not win: the chance of winning anything is about 1 in 172. We would rather publish long odds than imply short ones.

How it works

1

Create a free account

No card, no deposit. The account exists so one play a week can be counted against you, and so a prize has somewhere to land.

2

Take your one play

One per person per week. The limit is enforced on our side when the play is recorded, not in your browser, so there is no way round it.

3

Find out straight away

Cash is paid by bank transfer once we have confirmed the win. A free ticket is added to your account and goes into that draw on exactly the same terms as one somebody paid for.

Why the reveal cannot be rigged

Prizes are attached to specific entry numbers before the game opens. When you play, your entry number is issued and the result is settled there and then, on our side. The scratch animation is showing you a decision that has already been made.

That has a consequence worth stating: tapping differently, refreshing the page, closing it and coming back tomorrow, or opening the same play on another device all show the same result. There is no moment during the reveal when anything is still being decided, so there is no moment anyone could lean on.

Is this gambling?

No. A lottery in UK law needs two things together: payment to enter, and prizes allocated by chance. Nothing is paid to play this game, so it is a free draw and sits outside licensing.

It is also why this game carries no skill question, where our paid competitions do. A skill question and a free postal route are what keep a paid competition outside lottery law. A game that is free for everyone needs neither, so we have not added a hurdle for the sake of appearances. 18+, and one play a week by design.

Questions

Is the free instant win really free?

Yes. There is no ticket to buy, no card details to give and no deposit. You create a free Grand Draws account and take one play a week. We run it so people can see how the site works before they decide whether to enter a paid competition.

How often can I play?

Once a week, one play per person. The limit is enforced on our side when the play is recorded against your account, not in your browser, so there is no way around it and no advantage in trying.

What are the odds?

About 1 in 172 of winning anything, and most plays do not win. The exact counts are published: 1 x £50 cash, 2 x £10 cash, 5 x £5 cash, 50 x Free ticket into the £250 draw, across 10,000 entry numbers. We would rather publish long odds than imply short ones.

Can the reveal be rigged?

No, and not because you have to take our word for it. Prizes are attached to specific entry numbers before the game opens, and the result is settled the moment your play is recorded. The scratch animation only shows you a decision that has already been made, so tapping differently, refreshing or coming back tomorrow all show the same thing.

What is a free ticket into the £250 draw worth?

It is one entry in that week's £250 cash competition, added to your account automatically. It costs you nothing and it goes into the same draw, on the same terms, as a ticket somebody paid for.

Is this gambling?

No. A lottery in UK law needs two things together: payment to enter, and prizes allocated by chance. Nothing is paid to play this game, so it is a free draw and sits outside licensing. That is also why it carries no skill question, where our paid competitions do.
